I never envisioned myself as the President of a company, nor did I set out to build a career in the cannabis industry. What has always driven me, however, is a desire to make a meaningful impact—to help people become the best versions of themselves and to strengthen my community. True leadership is embracing each other’s unique strengths and lifting one another up. This is the philosophy I bring to Farmer Jane every day.

I consider myself incredibly fortunate. I have the privilege of leading a company filled with inspiring individuals—both men and women—who drive our success every day. My career has been shaped by companies where barriers aren’t defined by identity but by the challenges we overcome. I believe that true leadership is about fostering workplaces where talent, hard work, and integrity define success. At Farmer Jane Cannabis Co., we take pride in being a company where contributions are valued based on dedication, talent, and integrity. 

Living in Regina has also given me the balance to pursue my professional goals while cherishing my personal life. At the heart of that balance is my family—my husband and our two incredible children—who are my greatest source of joy, strength, and perspective. They remind me daily of what truly matters and keep me grounded through every challenge and success. I’ve also been lucky to have incredible mentors and friends—both men and women—guiding me through my leadership journey. I know that not everyone shares these same privileges so I try to never take them for granted. That’s why I’m committed to creating opportunities for others and ensuring that support, mentorship, and leadership development are accessible to all.

Throughout my career, I’ve learned that what truly matters is character, effort, and the impact we have on others and our communities. As the proverb goes, “A society grows great when people plant trees in whose shade they shall never sit.” The greatest contributions we make are often those that benefit others, even if we never see the full results ourselves.

So today, let’s celebrate the people and communities who dedicate themselves to the bigger picture and to growing future generations of leaders. Because real progress happens when we support one another and grow together.
